My register was off by exactly one cent for the third time this month

I closed up at the coffee shop last night and my drawer was short a single penny. That's the third time this month it's been off by exactly one cent, never more, never less. Part of me thinks it's just a weird coincidence, maybe a rounding thing with the new tax software. But my manager is convinced someone is messing with me, maybe a regular who thinks it's funny. It's such a small thing, but it bugs me every time I see it. Has anyone else had a drawer that kept hitting the same tiny error over and over?

Check the coin return slots on your register, had a penny stuck in mine for weeks causing the same issue.

Oh man, that reminds me of my old car's cup holder. A single dime fell down into the mechanism and jammed it shut for like a year. I had to drive around with my coffee between my legs, it was the worst. Finally took the whole console apart just to find that shiny little culprit.
