Warning: My grocery checkout line became a home decor advice booth
A regular spent ten minutes yesterday asking if her new backsplash would clash with her fruit bowl display. It struck me how often we get pulled into customer's home projects. Do you get these weirdly specific questions too?

It's wild how much free consulting we end up doing. Reminds me of @lane.joel talking about paint swatches, but once a woman brought in a photo of her couch and asked if the frozen peas would "bring out the right green tones." The line was ten people deep and she was dead serious. Makes you wonder what happens in the hardware store.

Had a guy hold up the line comparing wood stain samples to his phone case last week. He was genuinely stressed about his new desk matching his accessories. I mean, I just scan groceries, but suddenly I'm a color theory expert. It happens way more than you'd think.

See people do this all the time with paint swatches too, like we're giving out free design help with their receipt.
