A customer told me my torque wrench clicks were too soft to hear in a busy shop

I was building a gravel bike for a guy in Austin who races. He watched me work and said, 'Man, with the radio on and the air compressor going, you can't hear that click at all.' I realized he was right. Now I always check with my eyes on the wrench head, feeling for the click in my hand instead of just listening. Has anyone else switched to a visual or feel check for torque in loud environments?

Totally get that. Started doing the same thing after my old shop got a new impact gun. The noise was crazy. You really have to watch for that little jump in the handle, feel it in your wrist. Relying on sound alone is asking for trouble when it's loud.

Yeah, that "little jump in the handle" you mentioned, @seth_martinez21, is the real tell. Did you find you had to change your grip at all to catch that feeling better, or was it more about just paying closer attention?
