My old shop boss insisted on using a 5mm hex for every brake mount, but after stripping a bolt on a customer's Trek, I finally listened to the manual and switched to a 4mm.

What's the worst 'this is how we've always done it' advice you've had to unlearn in your shop?

Remember some older Trek models actually do need a 5mm.

Honestly that mindset is everywhere, not just in shops. People get stuck on one way of doing things and fight any change, even with proof right in front of them. It's like they'd rather break stuff than admit the manual might know better, lol. Unlearning that stubbornness is a whole job on its own.
