My shop foreman told me to stop using Park Tool grease for everything, he was right about that one thing

Read somewhere that certain greases can actually eat certain seals over time.

Alright hold on, I gotta push back on this a little. I know a lot of guys swear by Park Tool grease for everything, and I get why they say that, but I don't think it's always the wrong call. That stuff is pretty standard for most bike bearings and doesn't have anything in it that'd attack seals, at least not from what I've seen over the years. I've used it on all kinds of old and new bikes without any trouble, and the seals were always fine when I pulled them apart later. Now, if your foreman was talking about putting it on brake pistons or something weird like that, then yeah, he'd be right, but for regular hubs and headsets? I think he was being a little too picky.
