Am I the only one who caught myself scrubbing through every intro? Switched to skip and cut a season down to a weekend
Sat down for a 60 minute episode of a drama on Netflix and caught myself fast forwarding the opening credits like always. Then it hit me. I was burning 3 to 4 minutes every episode on a recap I did not need and it added up to almost a whole extra episode per season. So I flipped on skip intro and my 10 hour rewatch dropped to about 7. Now if a show does not give me a reason to care by episode 2, I bail instead of grinding through it. How do you all decide when a show has earned your time?
The "if a show does not give me a reason to care by episode 2, I bail" rule is the part I want to poke at, because episode 2 feels brutal for anything with a slow build. Some of my favorite shows took 3 or 4 episodes before the hook landed, and I would have missed them under that rule. Do you ever give a show a pass when friends swear it gets good, or is the 2 episode cutoff firm no matter what?
