Just realized how much Netflix changed after 2021

I started rewatching a show I loved back in 2019 and the whole feel is different now. Back then they'd let a season breathe with like 13 episodes, now everything is 8 episodes max with cliffhangers. I swear they're pushing quantity over quality since they started losing Marvel shows and stuff. Has anyone else noticed older shows hit different compared to the new originals?

The Marvel stuff leaving definitely hurt but I think you're overselling the episode count thing, 13 episode seasons were already dying off before 2021. Shows like Stranger Things and The Crown had shorter seasons way before the big shift happened. Netflix has always been about pushing out a ton of content, they just got more obvious about it after the pandemic.

Stranger Things season 1 had 8 episodes and that was back in 2016, so you're not wrong about shorter seasons being a thing before the big shift. But does that mean Netflix gets a pass for the way they've handled it the last 3 years? Because I feel like there's a difference between a show choosing to do 8 episodes and Netflix just cutting everything down to 6 or 7 to save money and trick people into binging faster.
