Passed episode 1,000 on my watch list and had to sit down
I keep a running list of every show I finish, and last night I hit episode 1,000. That number caught me off guard because I don't feel like I've watched that much. It made me realize how many random series I've binged that I barely remember, like that 3 season crime drama I finished during a snowstorm in January. The milestone matters because it shows how much time I've sunk into shows that don't stick with me. I could have spent those hours on books or learning a skill instead. Has anyone else checked their total and gotten weird about it?

That number would make me question my whole life tbh.

Take that number and multiply it by 22-45 minutes per episode depending on what you watch. That's somewhere around 370 to 750 hours just sitting there. Think about what you could learn in 750 hours. You could get pretty good at welding or speak a new language at a basic level. But honestly most people binge shows to turn their brain off after work so I wouldn't beat yourself up about it.
