Had to pick between a $200 coal forge on Craigslist or building one from a brake drum for $40

I went with the brake drum route and after 5 hours of welding and fitting, I got a solid forge that throws heat just fine, but has anyone else dealt with getting the air flow right from a hair dryer setup?

Duct tape and a dimmer switch fixed mine, cheap stuff teaches you more than fancy gear lol.

Did I spend three hours trying to fix mine with zip ties before just giving up and using a rock to hold it in place? Yeah, that cheap stuff taught me more than any store-bought fix ever could, even if my hands are still a little sore.
