Spent $800 on a hydraulic press and it's been a huge letdown for my small shop.

Oh man, I feel this... bought one last year thinking it would change everything. It just sits there taking up half my bench space. I tried making some simple brackets and it was more hassle than just using a vise and a hammer. The pump started leaking after a month of light use too. Total waste of money for the small stuff I do.

Return it if you still can. I sold mine for half price on Craigslist just to get it out of the garage. For brackets, I just bend the metal over the edge of my workbench and tap it with a mallet. It's way faster than setting up the bender and cleaning up hydraulic fluid. Some tools just aren't worth the trouble for small jobs.

So the hydraulic fluid is just for decoration then?
