My mechanic told me my spark plugs were "worn to nubs" after 20k miles

I've been driving a 2012 Ford Focus for about 3 years now and always thought the rough idle was just how it was built. Last week my buddy who works at a shop in Portland finally looked at it and said the plug gaps were WAY out of spec because the factory ones are garbage. Anyone else find that newer cars use cheaper parts that just don't last compared to 90s stuff?

Tried a local credit union for my business account after 10 years with a big bank

My regular bank kept hitting me with random fees and the branch manager couldn't tell me why. Switched to a small credit union downtown and they actually picked up the phone on the first ring. The kicker was their loan rate for a line of credit was 4% lower than what my old bank offered. Any one else find better deals at smaller places or is it just my area?

I started my 4th rewatch of Breaking Bad last Tuesday... and I caught this small detail in season 2 where Walt's lying about his cancer symptoms that I totally missed before. It made me think about how the show's layered writing rewards people who pay close attention. Has anyone else found something new on a rewatch of a favorite series?

PSA: My bathroom floor tile job is a total mess after the grout dried

Tbh, I tried to retile my small bathroom floor last weekend and it's a disaster. I used a basic white ceramic tile from the hardware store and thought I had the spacing right with those little plastic spacers. Ngl, I rushed the grout mixing and it was way too thick, like paste. After it dried, the lines are all uneven and some tiles feel loose when I step on them. I spent about $180 on materials and now I have to look at this wavy, bumpy floor every morning. I'm scared to pull them up because I might wreck the underlayment. Has anyone fixed a bad tile job without starting completely over from scratch?

Just ate at a place in Austin that served a deconstructed chicken pot pie

It was at a spot called The Copper Hen, and the dish came as a bowl of broth with the filling, a separate plate of puff pastry, and the veggies on the side. The flavors were good, but it felt more like soup with bread than a pot pie. Has anyone else run into this kind of plating trend, and do you think it works?

Showerthought: My boss's 'urgent' emails are never urgent after 5 PM

My manager at the painting company would send these panicked emails marked 'ASAP' at like 6:30 PM. I'd stress all night. Last month, I started waiting until 8 AM the next morning to even open them. Turns out, 9 times out of 10, the 'crisis' had already fixed itself or wasn't real. Has anyone else found their boss's emergencies are mostly just drama after hours?
