Our game group went from 3 hour rule arguments to smooth play in about 6 months

I mean, we used to fight over edge cases in Gloomhaven every session. Then one guy started printing out official FAQs before we meet. Has anyone else had a group dynamic totally flip from something simple like that?

Sounds like your friend printing FAQs was the real fix, not just time. Having a single agreed-upon source to check stops most arguments before they start. Our group did the same thing with a printed rule summary for D&D.
