Watched a friend explain Dune Imperium rules for 45 minutes last night

I invited a new player to our weekly game night and one of our regulars spent almost an hour going over every single card and faction before we even started. The new guy looked completely lost by the time we finally began playing. Have you ever had a game teacher who overexplained to the point it did more harm than good?

Guilty as charged. I once spent 20 minutes explaining the turn order in Catan and the guy just gave up and left.

Man I feel that. 8 years ago I tried to teach my buddy Ticket to Ride and 10 minutes in he just put his head down on the table.
