PSA: I just read that the first ASME boiler code was written in 1914, after a massive boiler explosion in a shoe factory killed 58 people.
Found that grim fact in an old trade magazine at the library, and it really drives home why we can't cut corners on pressure vessel specs, you know? What's the most important safety lesson you've learned on the job?

Used to think speed mattered more, honestly.

Right there with you, @jennifer358. I used to rush through everything trying to be the fastest. Now I'm just happy if I finish without spilling my coffee on the keyboard. Speed is great until you realize you have to go back and fix all the mistakes you made in a hurry. Maybe getting older just means you finally see the value in not tripping over your own feet.

Totally get that. Sarahc53 had a point about rushing just making more work later. I used to burn through tasks, but now I'd rather get it right the first time, even if it's slower. It just saves the headache of redoing everything.
