A woman at my book club in Cincinnati argued the main character was a ghost the whole time
We were discussing a regular fiction novel about a family, nothing supernatural. She pulled out a highlighter and started pointing to random lines like 'he felt unseen' and 'the room grew cold' as proof. She spent 20 minutes explaining her theory while the rest of us just stared at our copies. Has anyone else had a book club debate go completely off the rails like that?

Oh man, that's a whole new level of reading into things (and I say that as someone who loves a good conspiracy theory). Sounds like your book club night turned into a ghost hunt.
