Vent: That one guy who tried to tell me I was reading the 'wrong' edition
I was in the breakroom at work last Tuesday, reading my copy of Dune for the book club, when this guy from accounting walks over. He looks at my paperback and goes, "Oh, you're reading the mass market version, that's got typos on page 47 and 112, the trade paperback is way better." I just stared at him for a solid ten seconds... I've read this book three times already and never noticed any typos. He then spent like 15 minutes explaining how the 1987 edition is the only one worth owning. Has anyone else had a random person try to correct your reading choices like that?

Did you check page 47 just to make sure he wasn't right?

That "just to make sure he wasn't right" part got me thinking. Honestly I used to blow stuff like this off but you got a point, I went back and checked page 47 and yeah there it was staring me in the face. Guess it's easy to assume someone's wrong when you want them to be.
