Can we talk about people who think a quiet bar means you're not busy?
I mean, I had a table last night sit for two hours nursing one beer each, and the manager kept asking if I was 'keeping up' because the floor looked empty. But I had a full section, plus three regulars at the rail, and was running the service well for the kitchen. It's like they think if people aren't yelling, nothing's happening. Anyone else get this from bosses who only judge by noise?

Honestly though... is that really the worst thing a manager can do? At least they're checking in. Some bosses just hide in the office and never look at the floor at all. A quiet shift with steady regulars sounds pretty manageable compared to the real chaos. Maybe they just don't get how the service well works.

Checking in is good but I read that constant hovering can actually slow down a good bartender.
