Three months ago my boss told me my emails sounded like a robot wrote them
He was right. I was using all these corporate phrases like 'circle back' and 'action item' because I thought that's what you're supposed to do. Now I just write how I talk and people actually respond within a day instead of ignoring me.

Dropping 'circle back' was the best email decision I ever made.

Ditching that phrase felt so freeing (like finally admitting I have no idea what my plans are and that's fine). I swapped "loop you in" for just "I'll email you what I find" and suddenly people stopped looking at me like a robot.
