Used to have a filing system that made sense, now everything is digital chaos

Back at my old job in 2019, I had color-coded folders and a cross-reference sheet that worked perfect. Now my company switched to some cloud platform where files vanish into folders named 'Misc 2024' and nobody can find anything. Anyone else's workplace make their system worse after a software update?

Used to have a filing system that made sense" - honestly that phrase hits different now. I used to defend the old ways but after watching my own organized chaos get buried in a cloud dump, I'm starting to think maybe change isn't always progress.

@tessa_hill86 you nailed it with "organized chaos" because that's exactly what we had and it worked for us. Cloud dumps just feel like someone took all your sticky notes and threw them in a blender.
