Shoutout to the guy who told me to just start the invoice the second the job is done

I used to let billing pile up for a week, telling myself I'd do it Friday. My books were a mess and I'd forget hours. After a client asked 'where's my bill?' for a third time, a contractor at a supply house said 'Invoice on the tailgate, man. Always.' Now I pull out my phone right in the customer's driveway, send the PDF before I even load my tools. Has anyone else found a tiny habit that fixed a huge business pain point?

Honestly that tailgate advice is gold. Took me way too long to learn sending the invoice right away means I actually get paid. My cash flow got way less stressful after that.

My buddy waited a MONTH to bill a client once. They totally "forgot" about the last two hours of work. He learned the hard way to hit send before he even packs up his tools.
