Spent $60 on a decent pair of noise-cancelling headphones for my home office.
I was ready to lose my mind over my neighbor's constant leaf blowing, but now I can actually focus and get my design work done. Anyone have a good pair they swear by for blocking out construction noise?

Got the Sony WH-1000XM4s last year after my building started a six month facade repair. The noise cancelling is so good I barely hear the jackhammers right outside my window. It turns that constant drilling into a faint hum, lets me actually hear my own thoughts. Total game changer for getting any deep work done.

My friend had the same headphones during a subway station renovation right under her apartment. She said the noise cancelling made the pile drivers sound like a distant washing machine. Could finally watch TV without subtitles blasting. Your post @kelly.parker reminded me how she stopped having those constant tension headaches from the noise.

Your friend's story about the pile drivers is a good example, but those are actually impact hammers, not pile drivers.
