The silent partner who never logs in past 9 PM is killing our workflow
Three years ago I started a bakery with my cousin in Akron, and he still refuses to answer texts after 9 PM even when the walk-in freezer dies. Last month I spent 4 hours alone restocking 200 lbs of dough while he slept, and I finally snapped on the group chat. His excuse was 'I need my sleep for the morning rush,' but I'm the one doing the 5 AM load-in too. Has anyone else dealt with a partner who treats evening work as optional when the whole operation grinds to a halt without them?
Sounds like your cousin thinks the bakery runs on bakery hours, not crisis hours. Maybe you should start sending him texts about the walk-in freezer dying at 9:01 PM, just to test his commitment. I'd tell him the dough is going to rise with or without him, but so is your blood pressure. At some point you have to ask yourself if he's a partner or just a guy who shows up when it's convenient. Good luck getting that 5 AM load-in done without building a pillow fort in the freezer aisle.
