Can we talk about bosses who take credit for your work in front of clients?

Back in March, my manager at the logistics firm in Cleveland sat in on a call where I fixed a routing error that saved us about $10,000 on shipping fees. I walked him through every step, even prepared the slides. During the client recap, he said 'I identified the issue and proposed the solution,' right in front of me. I just sat there frozen. Two days later, the regional VP sent him a company-wide praise email. My name was nowhere on it. Has anyone else had a manager do this, and what did you actually do about it without burning the bridge?

Feel for you, that's a gut punch and totally unfair. Sounds like you handled it way better than most would, keeping your cool in front of the client. Just know that most VPs eventually figure out who does the real work, even if it takes longer than it should.
