Overheard my boss telling a customer I was 'new' even though I've been there 18 months
I work at a small auto repair shop in Odessa and yesterday I heard the owner tell a regular that I'm 'still learning' just to get out of a warranty claim. I've fixed over 200 cars there and never had a comeback. Should I confront him or just start looking for a new job?

I used to think owners blowing smoke about employees was just part of the business, but this is crossing a line into damaging your reputation for no reason. Eighteen months and two hundred cars fixed, that's not new or learning, that's proven work he's using as a shield to dodge a warranty claim. Confront him if you think he'll listen, but that kind of disrespect usually means he's already made up his mind about keeping you small.

Dude that sucks so bad. I had a manager do the exact same thing to me once, told a customer I was "the intern" after I'd been running the whole damn register for like 8 months. It's just so disrespectful.
