Noticing folks watering their succulents way too often at the nursery
I work at a greenhouse in Portland and I keep seeing customers soak their succulents every other day like they're tropical plants. Succulents need the soil to dry out fully between waterings, sometimes two weeks in winter. Last week a woman brought in a rotted echeveria because she watered it daily. Has anyone else had to explain this to people at your local garden center?

Walked into my own little succulent graveyard last month because I thought I was helping. I watered my jade plant every three days like clockwork, feeling real proud of myself. Turns out I was basically drowning the poor thing in a slow motion murder. It went all mushy and sad looking, exactly like that echeveria you mentioned. Now I just ignore them until they look thirsty and somehow they're thriving.
