My mortar mixer belt snapped halfway through a foundation job last Thursday

We were laying block for a garage in Westfield, and the old mixer just gave out with a loud pop. I had to send my helper to the supply house for a new belt while I mixed by hand in a wheelbarrow for about two hours. It set us back almost a full day on the schedule. Anyone know a good brand for replacement belts that can handle heavy use?

Yeah, mixing by hand in a wheelbarrow is a brutal way to spend an afternoon. @kelly.parker is right about Gates belts, they're solid. I always keep a spare Dayco belt in my truck too, the ones with the molded cogs seem to handle wet mortar and shock loads a bit better for me.

Been there, felt that pain in my back for a week. Gates belts usually hold up for me.
