Old timer's point about my trowel grip made a world of difference

I've been laying brick for 6 years and always held the trowel like a hammer. This retired mason on a job in Dayton watched me for a minute and said, 'You're fighting the mud, just let the handle sit in your palm.' I loosened my fingers and my wrist stopped aching by lunch. Anyone else get a grip tip that took years off their joints?
