Showerthought: Spent a whole day on a weird foundation corner in Cincinnati.

The old blueprints were off by an inch, so the whole first course was wrong. Anyone ever have a print mess you up that bad?

Had a sewer line detail from a 1992 plan set that was just flat wrong. The invert elevation they gave would have put the pipe three feet in the air. We dug the whole trench before we caught it, all because someone copied an old detail without checking. That kind of thing just kills your whole day, you have to stop everything and figure out a fix. Makes you triple check every single number from then on.

That "copied an old detail without checking" thing @the_stella is everywhere now. Like when a recipe blog says "add one cup of salt" because they just reused the template from a cookie recipe. You see it in old building codes getting grandfathered into new projects where they don't fit at all. It's like nobody's actually looking at the thing right in front of them.
