Vent: bent 4 pins on my CPU socket trying to swap coolers on a Sunday night
Two weeks ago I decided to upgrade the cooler on my old AM4 board in my Charlotte apartment, and I yanked the cooler straight up while the thermal paste was still tacky, which ripped the CPU right out of the locked socket. I spent 45 minutes with a razor blade and a phone camera zoomed in 8x straightening the pins back, and it actually posted on the first try. Has anyone else done the twist-first trick before pulling, or is there a better way to unstick a CPU that feels glued in?
