Spent 4 hours hunting for a cheap hostel in Barcelona only to realize I had the wrong dates

So I was planning a trip to Barcelona for like 3 months and kept putting off booking a hostel. Finally sat down last Tuesday night to find a place under $30 a night. Spent 4 solid hours scrolling Hostelworld and Booking.com, cross checking reviews, looking at maps. Everything decent was either booked up or way over my budget. I was about to give up when I noticed my calendar was set for the wrong weekend - I had the dates mixed up by a week. Switched it and found a spot near La Rambla for $28 a night in like 10 minutes. Has anyone else done something this dumb with dates and wasted hours?

Nah, that's just part of the process honestly. You probably saved way more than $28 a night by double-checking.

Literally spent an hour once trying to figure out if a $17 motel outside of Bakersfield had free parking or if it was a $5 add-on they'd hit you with at checkout. Turned out the parking lot was just a dirt patch with a shopping cart in it. So I called it a win and moved on.
