Question about my daily log going from 2 pages to half a page in 3 weeks
I used to write a full page of tasks every morning, but after I switched to only logging what I actually did the night before, my daily spread shrank to half a page by week 3. Has anyone else tried logging backward like this, or does it mess up your weekly review too much?
Man, @rose_henderson is making it sound like you committed a crime against productivity or something. So what if the list got shorter? Maybe it just means you stopped writing down a bunch of stuff you were never gonna do anyway. Not everything needs to be a big moral test about whether you're lying to yourself. A log of what actually happened is still a log, and if the half page shows real work done, that seems fine to me. Do the two list thing if you're curious, but don't let anyone tell you the short version is fake.
Doing it backward means you never write down stuff you meant to do but didn't, so the list shrinks because the hard stuff just disappears. Half a page might feel good but it's basically a highlight reel, not a real log. Try doing both for a week and see how much you quietly dropped.
