Went to a bullet journal meetup and nobody actually used a pen

I showed up to this group at a coffee shop downtown thinking we'd swap spreads and talk about pens. Every single person was showing off their digital journals on tablets. One girl had a whole Notion setup with 15 different views. I sat there with my Leuchtturm and a Pilot G2 feeling like I brought a horse to a car show. Is this normal now or did I just pick the wrong group?

I actually had this exact thing happen to me at a local planner meetup last spring lol. I brought my old school Moleskine and a pack of Staedtler fineliners and everyone else was on GoodNotes or some app I'd never heard of. What worked for me was just asking one of the tablet girls to show me how she does her monthly layout, and she ended up loving how my hand drawn trackers had that messy, personal feel. Now we trade tips sometimes - she sends me her digital templates and I snap photos of my calligraphy spreads. You don't gotta ditch the pen, just find the one or two people who still appreciate the physical stuff.

Ngl, that "messy, personal feel" thing is exactly what I heard on a podcast about why physical journals are making a comeback.
