Got burned on a vendor deal in Dallas last spring

I signed a 6 month contract with a printing company back in March for our marketing materials, thought I did my homework on pricing... they jacked up the rate by 40% in month 3 with some fine print I missed. Lost about $1,200 before I caught it and switched to a local shop that's been way more upfront. Anyone else had a supplier sneak in hidden fees like that after you thought you had a solid deal locked in?

That 1200 dollar mistake changed my mind about ever signing a contract without a lawyer looking it over first.

Totally agree with you @kai463, lawyers catch all the sneaky stuff we'd miss. Had the same thing happen with a janitorial service at my kid's daycare center - they added a "sanitization fee" in tiny print after month two and I didn't notice until I was out $300. Never again signing anything without someone who reads the legal stuff first.
