Rant: My Tokyo trip showed quiet shops outlast flashy ones

Walking in Tokyo, I saw small shops that have been there for ages with no fancy signs or apps. They just do their thing well and keep people coming back. I think this beats the loud idea that you need to always be adding new stuff to grow. Sometimes, staying simple and good is the real way to build a business that lasts.

So @grace611... is ignoring trends the new trend?

Honestly, the whole 'ignoring trends' thing... it's like when everyone starts doing it to be different, then being different is just the same. Saw this with vinyl records coming back, people wanted old stuff to stand out, but now it's everywhere. Even in home decor, like everyone buying plants to be 'natural' but it's a trend too. So if we all try to ignore trends, we're just making a new one. Kinda makes you wonder what real ignoring would look like... maybe just doing your own thing without thinking about it.
