Saw a restuarant owner in Austin using post-it notes for inventory

Went to this BBQ spot in Austin called Stubb's last month and noticed the owner had post-it notes all over the walk-in cooler with counts on them. Asked him about it and he said he tried 5 different apps over 2 years but always went back to paper because the apps took too long to open. I started doing the same thing for my own inventory tracking and cut the time from 20 minutes down to about 5. Has anyone else found a super low-tech method that works better than the digital stuff?

Doesn't surprise me one bit. Paper just works when everything else gets in the way.

Disagree completely. Spreadsheets take me 8 minutes max and I can see everything at once without sticky notes falling off in a freezer. Digital search and backup beats paper any day.
