Spent 4 hours formatting a single internal memo because nobody agreed on font size

Four hour debate over font size? Sounds like you guys actually got work done. I mean, if nobody can agree on 11pt vs 12pt Calibri, maybe the real problem is you're all too invested in your own opinions to just pick one and move on. Probably saved you from some bigger argument down the line by hashing out the font thing first. Maybe it's just me but I'd rather spend four hours fighting about fonts than four hours fighting about something that actually affects the company's bottom line.

Old way vs new way - calling to report a problem vs chatting online

Read somewhere that companies actually handle chat complaints better because they can multitask and look up your info while talking. Less pressure than someone breathing on the phone.

Chatted with a client who's been coming to me for 15 years about her first perm

Super careful not to poke anyone" - yeah, I'd hope so, coat hangers and chemical perm solution sounds like a nightmare combo. Though I'm pretty sure that wasn't exactly a mainstream salon thing, more like a desperate DIY move your aunt's friend came up with. Still gives me the creeps thinking about it.

Debate: Is it better to fix a drafting mistake on the fly or start over from scratch?

A buddy of mine spent three hours trying to fix a misaligned foundation plan in AutoCAD once, just kept adding notes and patches. His boss finally walked over, deleted the whole file, and made him start fresh in ten minutes. He said learning when to let go saved him more time than any fix ever could.

I used to chase every single lead like it was gold, now I fire bad clients

Man, I used to think grinding it out with any client was just part of the hustle, but @robert_craig is right - cutting the dead weight actually clears space for better work.
