Blew a hydraulic line on a 737 in Memphis during a quick turn
After I got sprayed with Skydrol near the right main gear, I found the leak was from a chafed hose clamp that maintenance control swore they replaced six months ago, so did anyone else have a line rupture from a bad clamp install?

A little friendly correction - Skydrol's actually the brand name, not the fluid type. That stuff is usually a phosphate ester-based hydraulic fluid, but we all just call it Skydrol because it's the most common one out there. And man, the way it eats through paint and stings like crazy if it gets on your skin, I don't blame you for not wanting to get close to it. The bad clamp install thing though, that's a classic maintenance control move - they swear they replaced it, but someone probably just snugged it with a zip tie and called it done.

Buddy of mine got a face full of Skydrol in Atlanta when a hose clamp let go that was supposedly "torqued to spec" two days prior. Said the maintenance log looked like it was signed by a guy who'd already clocked out.
