Rant: dropped $1,800 on a used bandsaw and the table wobbled from day one

I bought a used 20 inch bandsaw off a guy in Stockton for $1,800 because he swore it cut straight through bone. First hog I broke down, the blade wandered so bad I lost half the loin and had to grind it into sausage. Turned out the trunnion was cracked and he knew it, since his ad photos were all shot from the good side. Got my money back minus gas, but that was three weeks of grinding meat I couldn't sell at full price. Anyone else get burned buying used gear off marketplace, or is it just me who keeps falling for a clean paint job?
