Heard a guy at the lumber yard say he stopped using pocket screws on face frames, now I'm second guessing myself
I was picking up maple plywood in Portland when this older guy behind me in line mentioned he switched to dowels and glue for all his face frames after a kitchen job failed on him years back. I've been using pocket screws on every frame for 12 years and never had a callback, so now I'm wondering if I've just been lucky or if he's overthinking it. Any of you made that switch, and did it actually change anything?
