Shoutout to the guy who called me out on my dado stack setup
Last Tuesday a customer kept pointing at my dado cuts saying the bottoms looked rough. I brushed it off until I looked close with a flashlight and realized my chippers were installed in the wrong order. He was some retired cabinetmaker from Portland who just happened to be walking through my shop. Has anyone else had a random stranger save them from turning out bad work?

Man that's brutal but also kinda awesome. Still waiting for the day someone catches me before I run a board through with the blade height set way too high again.

That 'still waiting for the day someone catches me' thing hits home. It's like we all have this blind spot for our own near-misses but watch out for everyone else's like hawks. I see it all the time at the gym too - people spotting each other on lifts but walking right past someone about to drop a dumbbell on their foot. We're good at seeing danger in others, terrible at seeing it in ourselves.
