Found a trick for fishing lines through fire blocks without losing my mind

I was fighting with a 3/4 inch spade bit and fish tape in a 2018 build in Phoenix, then I tried using a 3 foot long 1/4 inch fiberglass rod with a magnet tip to pull the tape through the hole from the other side. Has anyone else found a better way to get around those tight fire block spaces without crawling through the attic twice?

That fiberglass rod with the magnet is a game changer, I did the same thing on a job in Mesa last year after getting sick of wrestling with fish tape in those narrow gaps. The magnet tip makes all the difference when you're trying to line things up blind through the hole and can't even see where the tape is going. Why don't more guys just ditch the spade bit and use one of those rods from the start, it saves so much crawling around.

Duuuude @patricia_singh81 you are so right, I feel your pain on that one. It is wild how much easier the job gets once you stop fighting with the old tools and just switch to something that actually works.
