Had a talk with a homeowner that changed how I terminate cables

Old guy in Phoenix last week watched me work. He said "you're wasting time making those ends look pretty inside the wall." It hit different because he was right. I was spending 5 extra minutes per drop on neatness that nobody sees. Now I just focus on the connection being solid. Anyone else had a customer teach them something?

Oh man I saw a YouTube video from an old timer that said exactly the same thing! He called it "fishing line theory" where you just need the connection to work not look like a magazine cover. Definitely made me rethink spending 10 minutes combing my cables flat when nobody's ever gonna see behind that drywall.

It's crazy how that applies to so many things honestly. I started doing the same thing with packing boxes for moving, used to make them look like a magazine spread and now I just make sure nothing breaks. Half the stuff we obsess over is just for us.
