The day I stopped using canned air and switched to a bulb blower for sensor cleaning

I spent like 6 years blasting dust off sensors with those expensive canned air cans until a repair in Minneapolis last fall where the can froze up mid-job and I ended up spraying propellant all over a Sony A7III. Switched to a $15 rubber bulb blower that night and haven't touched a can since - anyone else had a canned air disaster story?}

That frozen can story is brutal. The propellant leaves a nasty residue that's nearly impossible to clean off the sensor filter. A bulb blower is just way more reliable and costs nothing to use forever.

I actually melted the plastic ring around my sensor filter with canned air once. Not my finest moment lol. I was trying to be careful but I held the can too close and the liquid propellant shot right out. It left this sticky film that took forever to clean off with those little swabs. Switched to a bulb blower after that and honestly it works better for most dust anyway. The frozen can story just reminded me how dumb I was that day.
