Saw a guy get piled on at a Portland comic shop for a joke, and the owner deleted the whole FB post after 200 comments
I was killing time at a shop on SE Hawthorne last Saturday and overheard a regular crack a dumb joke about a writer, nothing mean, and by Monday the shop's Facebook page had 200 comments demanding he be banned for life. The owner folded and wiped the entire thread, but I found out later the guy had been going there for 9 years and nobody ever had a problem with him before. Where's the line between a bad joke and a full-on cancellation? I honestly can't tell if the pile-on was fair or if people just wanted blood that week.
