Watched a guy get dragged for one bad tweet from 2017, then the receipts flipped the whole thing
I was scrolling a thread about some chef in Austin who got cooked over a joke he made 6 years ago, and around comment 200 someone dug up the full interview where he was actually quoting his grandma. By then his restaurant had already lost 40 reservations and he'd posted an apology, which he then deleted. Anyone else notice the pile-on always peaks right before somebody actually reads the source?
Watched the same thing happen to a local band last year. The pile-on always hits hardest in that 12 hour window before anyone bothers to click the link, because by then the mob has already moved on to feeling good about itself. Funny how the apology always comes faster than the fact check.
