Warning: Don't jump into a tech bootcamp just because your job makes you miserable
I was a dental hygienist for 8 years and hated it. Last spring I signed up for a 12 week coding bootcamp in Austin, paid $14,000 upfront. Dropped to part time at my clinic to study. By week 6 I was drowning in JavaScript, had panic attacks every night, and realized I didn't even like sitting at a computer for 10 hours. I quit the bootcamp with a $14K loss and went back to cleaning teeth full time. The worst part? My friend did the same bootcamp, finished it, and still can't find a job 8 months later. Has anyone here actually made a career switch work without going into debt or hating the new thing?

Man, I've seen this play out too. A buddy of mine dropped $10k on a data science course, quit his warehouse job, and three weeks in realized he hated staring at spreadsheets all day.
