Hot take: Storing plywood on its edge twisted my sheets

I kept leaning plywood against the garage wall to free up floor space. After a few weeks, the sheets bowed and were useless for cabinets. Now I lay them flat on a couple of 2x4s, and they stay perfectly flat. It seems obvious, but it saved me from buying more material.

It's crazy how the right support fixes so many problems, from plywood to everyday tasks.

My old garage floor warped three sheets before I learned. Now I keep everything on 2x4s and it's all still flat.

Leaning it on the edge can definitely warp it, but the bigger mistake is letting it touch the concrete floor directly. Even laid flat, the bottom sheet will suck up moisture and start to cup... you need those 2x4s or something similar to get air flow all around. The support has to be flat and level too, or you’ll just get a different kind of bend.
