Appreciation post: the day a guy in Tulsa showed me I was stretching carpet all wrong for 6 years
I always power stretched from the middle of the room outward and figured that was just how it's done. Then this older installer named Ray watched me do a 12 by 15 bedroom and stopped me cold, said I was fighting the backing the whole time and should be working the seams first on a stretch like that. He had me redo the last 4 feet and the seam laid flat with no ridge, first time I'd ever seen mine look that clean. Anybody else get taught one way and find out later it was costing you hours?
