Cleaning out my work van and found a box with 500 carpet seam tape rolls

I was clearing out the back of my van yesterday and found a sealed box of seam tape. I checked my old order book, and I bought it back in 2012. It hit me that I've been using the same brand and type for over a decade. The glue formula changed around 2015, and the new stuff just doesn't hold as well on Berber in my experience. I remember when a seam would stay put for 20 years, no questions asked. Now I have to explain to homeowners that a little peaking might happen after a few years. Has anyone else found a good alternative for older style, high wool content carpets?

Wait, you had a box of tape just sitting in your van since 2012 and never noticed it? That's wild! I totally believe you about the glue change though, it's frustrating when a good product gets worse. My old boss used to swear by the pre-2015 stuff too. Have you tried reaching out to any smaller suppliers to see if they have old stock left?

Found it wedged behind a spare tire.
