The tailgate critic who made me put the coffee down
Last Saturday at the Lakeside Cars and Coffee lot, this guy in a vintage Bronco walks up to my freshly detailed 370Z and says, "Nice stance, shame about the wheel gap up front." He didn't even look at the engine, just squatted down and pointed at the fender like he was diagnosing a tumor. I had measured that gap with a caliper the night before, 2.1 inches, and adjusted the coilovers three times to get it level. He then dropped a business card for his alignment shop and walked off before I could ask if he'd even driven a drift car. It stuck with me because he was gone in 90 seconds, but I spent the whole meet second-guessing my setup. Has anyone else had a stranger zero in on one spec and ruin the whole vibe for you?

Did he even bother to look at your tire width or camber before he dropped the card, or was he just popping off based on the first thing his eye caught? Because any shop owner worth his salt knows front gap on a drift setup is a whole different animal than a street cruiser, so that comment feels extra lazy. You spent real hours getting that 2.1 inches level, and he couldn't take 30 seconds to ask what you were going for. What's the bet his business card was for some place that only does stock SUV alignments anyway?
